Student Printing

All of the Public Workstations within the school are setup to print to the Student Printers. The printers are called Student Printer. The printers are located in the following areas:

Basement Library – beside the Computer Lab/Helpdesk
1st Floor Library – facing the Reference Desk
2nd Floor Library – far end of the Reading Area

You can send a print job from any of the Public PCs or from your own laptop (you will need to install the drivers first – see below). Wherever you insert your Print Card is where the job will print (there is a print card reader beside each printer). Print jobs are only available for a few hours and then the print queues are purged. Print Cards should have been provided at your Orientation. If you need to replace or add dollars to one, there are 2 Printer Vending machines. One is located in the basement library beside the library elevator. Another one can be found beside the Rest Rooms in the 1st Floor Library area.

If you encounter any difficulties printing or using your print card, please stop by the IT Helpdesk located beside the main Computer Lab in the basement Library. Our hours are Monday – Thursday 8:00am–10:00pm. Fridays 8:00am–5:00pm and 12 Noon–4:00pm on the weekends.

Please note there are currently no drivers available for 64 Bit Vista.

Installing Pharos on your PC

Install Pharos package
After installation has completed successfully go to Control Panel
Go to Printers and Faxes
Open the properties page of the "StudentPrinters on..." Printer
Go to the Device Settings Tab
Go down to Installable Options
Find Duplex Unit, and change it to Installed
Next find Printer Memory and set it 64MB
Click OK

If there was a problem during the install try deleting the "Student Printer" in Printers and Faxes and trying the Lite (or web) install opposed to the full install or vice versa.

Installing Pharos on a MAC OS X

Mount the StudentPrinters.dmg
Open the Popup 6.1 (2374) disk
Run Popup.pkg
Click through all the steps
Once Pharos popup software is installed
Click on the Apple icon
Select System Preferences
In the Hardware row, open Print & Fax
Click on StudentPrinters, then click the Printer Setup button
Check off the box for Duplex Unit
Scroll down to the bottom of the list
Change the Total Memory from 48-63 MB to 65-79 MB
Click the Apply Changes button
Now you can quit the Printer Setup Utility
